In 1984, Nancy's Pastor, Vic Eason decided to start having outreach concerts on Saturday nights at the Victory Chapel Church in Rancho Cucamonga geared toward winning the lost. He brought in other bands from other churches to minister. Nancy quickly inducted her son, Jim (13 years old) to play drums, daughter Amy (11 years old) to sing and play keyboard, and a Spirit-led sister at the church with a powerful voice named Diane Hubrecht to be the third vocal and keys.
She named the band “Destiny”. The first time they played, they used a couple of cover songs and one original called “Part Time Christian”. God began to pour out new lyrics and melodies on Nancy. Over time, all of the songs that Destiny performed were originals, with Nancy's daughter Amy bringing a few to the table.
Outreach to the lost was the driving force that caused Destiny to set up in parks, neighborhoods, schools, churches and on the streets – literally anywhere they were allowed to minister. Destiny's theme was truly "Music with a Purpose". Nancy's husband, Greg Campbell played a vital role in the support and function of the band. Because of his training and expertise in the field of pro sound, video and lighting, he made sure the band was able to hit the road.
Others whom Nancy is so thankful for being involved in playing in Destiny over the years were Robert Valadez (guitar), Shawn Dahlke (saxophone) and Sam Perez (saxophone). Bill Laine added lead guitar and Bill Anderson added saxophone on the Destiny CD titled “Where Sin Abounds”.
